Romantic Wedding at InterContinental Chicago’s King Arthur Court

Some love stories unfold slowly, like a soft melody that lingers until the timing is just right. Fatima and John’s began as a friendship at work—two kind, grounded souls whose connection simmered quietly while life carried on. After John left the company, it was Fatima who checked in on him. He had a lot going on. So did she. But then she had a dream about him—one vivid enough to prompt a message. A dinner followed. And as they reconnected, the relationship that had been waiting patiently in the wings began to take shape.

They weathered a pandemic together. Built a deeper bond. And one day, along Ravenswood Avenue in Chicago, John proposed. The “yes” wasn’t just to a wedding—but to the life they had already started building, rooted in friendship, resilience, and deep care. Their wedding took place at the InterContinental Chicago, a venue that beautifully mirrored the elegance and intention they brought to every detail.

The day began with the couple’s first look that took place in the InterContinental Chicago’s hidden penthouse (if you know you know) with stunning views of the Chicago Skyline, and the Chicago River. The couple took advantage of the hotel’s iconic location on Chicago’s Magnificent Mile and took wedding photos at the Wrigley Building and Michigan Avenue

The ceremony was romantic and sentimental. The King Arthur Court room—lined with stained glass windows and intricate murals depicting the life of King Arthur—was the perfect backdrop for a ceremony that felt regal, heartfelt, and deeply personal.

Fatima and John found meaningful ways to honor those who couldn’t physically be there. Photos of Fatima’s late parents and John’s late mother were displayed on a table surrounded by soft candlelight and blush roses—a quiet but powerful tribute. The room held space for both joy and remembrance, and you could feel it.

The reception was full of meaning and fun! From the cake toppers (one of the couple’s many inside jokes), to the heartfelt speeches, and fraternity serenades. As a nod to Fatima’s Bosnian heritage, Bosnian music played during the reception and had guests on their feet, dancing with joy and energy that filled the space. It was such a beautiful reflection of their story—blending cultures, families, and legacies into something completely their own.

There was so much tenderness woven into this day, from the emotional vows to the way their eyes locked as they said I do, to the quiet moments tucked into the schedule where they could simply pause and be present with one another.

Fatima and John, it was an absolute honor to walk alongside you both. Your wedding wasn’t just beautiful—it was meaningful in every way. Thank you for letting me help bring your vision to life.
